Details

In keeping with our tradition of creating piano masterpieces for our U.S. clients that are both museum-quality works of art and the highest performing musical instruments, Picarzo Pianos has restored a golden age 1924 Steinway M piano in satin mahogany. For this masterpiece, we kept the classic golden age (1900s) Steinway M style and gave it a satin hand-rubbed finish of the golden age. In addition to this exotic mahogany exterior, this piano has new instrument parts and has been restored by our partners.

This piano is for the connoisseur who would appreciate an extremely rare mahogany Steinway & Sons 88-note 5'7" Model M grand piano from the Golden Age of Steinway piano-making. We were elated to be able to purchase and restore this legendary piano back to new.

This piano was restored recently, and is very much like a new piano. Definitely one of the loveliest pianos we have ever seen. And it plays like a dream. From this restoration, this model M received a satin mahogany finish, a new soundboard, new bridges, new pinblock, new agraffes, all new action components, new keytops, and all the hardware polished/replated. The tone is powerful and lively, the action is smooth, and the case is unbelievably beautiful.  Please contact us for more details or to make an offer.

How this piano may be different from other pianos you are considering

Rare - Very few model Steinway M's from the golden age restored to this level exist in the U.S.

Quality - Steinways are considered the gold standard of American-made luxury pianos because of their impressive scale designs and the tones that these designs generate.

Price - Special edition Steinway model M's are made in NY today cost over $130K, and this piano is less than a quarter of the price

Picarzo Optimization - This piano has undergone our intensive Picarzo Optimization process (see our youtube video on Optimization)

When you buy a Steinway piano Steinway pianos have been synonymous with quality, beauty and luxury for over 150 years, a reputation well earned. Steinway pianos are considered the elite pianos, where, similar to Rolex watches, the main competition for a new Steinway piano is not a competitor, but rather a pre-owned Steinway piano. Each handcrafted Steinway piano has over 12,000 mechanical parts and, when assembled or restored by expert technicians, the Steinway piano is elegant and tonally gorgeous. Steinway piano designs are timeless, with many of their current model scale designs being over 100 years old. Even 100+ year old Steinway pianos play today, although these pianos had to withstand incredibly harsh and inconsistent indoor conditions for most of the 1900's. (Now with climate-controlled (temperature and humidity) homes, Steinway pianos made, or properly restored, after 1990 may conceivably last 200 years in current home environments.) Although Steinway prices are high compared to other pianos, Steinway pianos have enduring value over time, much more so than competitors’ pianos. When you buy a Steinway piano, you are buying a very special piano that will last you and your family a long, long time.
